Marion County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating a shooting in Ocala that killed a woman Friday night.

On Monday, the Marion County sheriff gave an update on a deadly shooting from over the weekend. When they arrived, deputies located a woman who had been shot. The victim, identified as Ajike "AJ" Owens, was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Upon arrival, they located an adult female who had been shot. Deputies say they provided aid to the woman until medics arrived and transported her to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
