The fuel line allows fuel to be delivered from the fuel tank to the engine, and in modern applications, multiple fuel lines may be used to circulate unused fuel from the engine back to the fuel tank. As the fuel pump works to create pressure in the fuel tank, fuel is then transferred through the fuel line and arrives at the fuel rail to be utilized by the injectors. There may be sections of metal hard fuel line as well as rubber or nylon fuel lines that allow the fuel line to flex and be routed safely around other components.
