It features ultra-aerodynamic bodywork with Ram Air, GP-style swingarm, under-seat exhaust system, six-spoke wheels, petal-style disc brakes, inverted forks and a powerful engine that will leave riders itching to find their local twisty highways. Leading-Edge Style. The point of convergence — where the divided air streams comes together behind the rider — is critical to aerodynamic efficiency, so Kawasaki engineers designed the tail section to smoothly blend the air together while minimizing turbulence. The result is quicker roll-on acceleration and higher top speeds at the race track, as well as enhanced rider comfort and control. By centralizing the fuel mass near the center of the bike, chassis responsiveness is enhanced — weight transfers from turn to turn are lighter, and the chassis is exceptionally stable under acceleration and braking.

The Kawasaki ZX-6R's track-intent is still present and correct, but thankfully the suspension is more responsive and less harsh. Its new slippery shape means that mph is just a following wind away. Also new for is a slipper clutch and petal discs. The most appreciable difference between this and the Kawasaki ZX-6R it replaced is the quality of the ride. It all works flawlessly. The exquisite fuelling, the easy mid-range, the searing power, the screaming airbox…. It makes a genuine bhp at the back wheel, which easily makes it the most powerful middleweight motor of its time. The Kawasaki ZX-6R is well finished and well built. Find a Kawasaki ZX-6R for sale. It boasts refined engine internals, a close ratio gearbox, stiction-reducing fork coatings, revised suspension and a boss for a steering damper. Kawasaki can also supply a racing kit to help push the power up towards bhp. Read what they have to say and what they like and dislike about the bike below.
Originally bought with the intention of it being a dailt rider, but I felt so at home 2006 kawasaki zx636 it that it had to be ridden to it's full potential on the track. It shifts with silky smooth precision and no missed gears made it into my notebook over the two days.
Born into the famous Ninja series of sportsbikes, a title which the ZX6R still proudly displays to this day. Kawasaki would make many changes to the ZX6R over the coming years to keep up with competition from Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha. In Kawsaki made a big change where they increased the engine capacity to cc. I often see people getting confused with identifying these bikes. The ZX6 and the are exactly the same bike, though Kawsaki did make a ZX6-RR race version of the bike which maintained the cc capacity engine to ensure eligibility into displacement restricted supersport racing. In they further revised the engine with larger cams, a new head and polished ports. The engine is what this version of the little Ninja is best known for, it produces a claimed BHP and at the time led the way in the supersport class.
Kawasaki has made the Ninja ZX-6R since But it did so on the back of a few iterations of class motorcycles. And since then, Kawasaki has updated the ZX-6R considerably and multiple times, always maintaining its unique edge in the class segment in some way. Kawasaki has, with the ZX-6R, often done things differently. This is similar to their approach with many of their bikes. With the 6R, they were pretty unique in opting for a bigger-displacement engine for the street bike, when the other Japanese manufacturers stuck to sub cc. Kawasaki was also among the first with rider aids, from a slipper clutch to ABS. I expect that this class will disappear forever soon in the US and Australia, too.

The mid range grunt is fantastic and certainly not what you would expect from a bike in this class. Strengths: Power seems to be never ending and looks the business. Head gasket was completely fine though. Appreciate the responses. Silky smooth gear changes, plenty of power from nice and low in the rev range and a nice light clutch. If Kawasaki made one it would be a best seller!!! Some components can feel a little cheap but everything is built to last, which is what you want at the end of day. Rode several 's when buying Not so anymore. Was a tad uncomfortable on a trip to France but miles in 3 days is asking a lot. Brakes: 4. The exquisite fuelling, the easy mid-range, the searing power, the screaming airbox…. The seat is surprisingly super comfy.

I believe its till the most powerful 4 cylinder sports around OK having an extra 36 cc is cheating but it works. Standard stuff for a bike of this class. Slate 35 Replies. The previous higher lift race kit cams open and close the valves while new pistons are claimed to reduce friction and realise an increased compression ratio. As above, fairly standard for this calibre of bike. It boasts refined engine internals, a close ratio gearbox, stiction-reducing fork coatings, revised suspension and a boss for a steering damper. I own an 06 ZZR with 51, miles and never had any issues just crappy suspension. Great bike I am over 6ft no problems on this bike for comfort. Bore x Stroke. Handling is much improved after fitting a new pair of Avon Vipers, it didn't ride well on worn Bridgestones.
