Since the car is 10 years old, I think I should replace the factory headlight bulbs as well. I'm finding it difficult to make a decision on new headlight bulbs, however. I know that these require h11 and h9 high-beam bulbs, but I want to go with something besides halogen, because judging from what I read, halogens only last a couple of years. I want bulbs that will last for the remainder of the vehicle's lifetime. One source of confusion I have, is that I have not replaced one single headlight bulb in the 10 years that I have owned this vehicle. How can this be possible? I'm pretty sure it's just factory halogens that are currently installed.

The dim lights are terrible I have done some research. Do I really need to replace the entire headlight assembly as opposed to just replacing the bulbs? In other research here, I found that the dim lights are H11 and the brights are H9.
