Północna część wyspy nie otrzymuje dofinansowań z Unii Europejskiej, gdyż jest to teren okupowany przez Turcję, dlatego podczas podróży dało się zauważyć, że północna część Cypru jest zdecydowanie biedniejsza, ale tak samo piękna jak południowa część.
