Aeon tile

I can turn the device on and off from the Commands buttons on the device menu, but I cannot get the tile to show state of device. And, aeon tile, I am only able to aeon tile off the device from the dashboard tile which continues to show "sending"but not back on. It seems that there must be some trick to get the dashboard tile to match the actual state of the device, but I don't find any hint in the documentation or Community.
