As the new Highlord of the Tal'darim, Alarak leads his people to a destiny free of the corrupt influence of the fallen Xel'Naga, Amon. However, First Ascendant Nuroka revealed to Alarak that he had discovered their god, the fallen Xel'Naga Amon , had betrayed them and sought their demise, and that Alarak needed to aid him in removing their Highlord Ma'lash from power. Instead Alarak betrayed Nuroka during the battle, rising to First Ascendant, but he never forgot that Amon's betrayal.
