While the may have something of a grunge sound they were not just a grunge band they had sounds spanning prog rock, psychedelia, metal, and goth rock. The songs included in the playlist are from two of their top selling albums Siamese Dreams and Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. As a listener these songs give me a feeling of nostalgia. Especially in the song Disarm with the almost sad sounding chord progression mixed will bells. The mix and imaging is pretty much normal. It sounds like everything is centered and no one sound is overpowering everything supports Corgans voice. Which makes sense with the pumpkins being part of the birth of grunge. Back in the Cranberries went on hiatus then made a comeback about 6 years later. The Pumpkins also did something similar they split in and seven years later Corgan decided to announce they were reuniting as egotistical as it may look without informing his old band mates. Today Corgan is the only original member left of the band. As for the production side they are pretty similar with the mixing and sonic imaging.
