Ann Rule , one of the best known American true crime writers, began her career in law enforcement. Rule was born in Lowell, Michigan in as Ann Stackhouse. Rule earned her B. She later took criminology classes, earning an associate's degree at Highline Community College. Rule also studied at Willamette University, earning a master's degree.
