Bringing Theatre to Life. Ararat Musical Comedy Society is a community theatre group in Ararat, Victoria, Australia, that loves everything related to the stage! We have a policy of absolute inclusion, meaning that when anyone in our region wants to be onstage, we will find a place for you. Very few theatre groups out there have such an inclusive and communal spirit. We primarily produce Musicals, but we have from time to time put on Plays as well. Our "modus operandi" is to every year put on the very best productions that we can, with the limited resources we have available. We focus on creativity and pure enjoyment for all involved, and whilst we love it when we do very well, perfection is not our number one agenda.

He is purchased by Potiphar where thwarting advances from Potiphar's wife lands him in jail. When news of Joseph's gift to interpret dreams reaches the Pharaoh, Joseph is well on his way to becoming second in command. Eventually his brothers, having suffered greatly, unknowingly find themselves grovelling at the feet of the brother they betrayed but no longer recognise, where he reveals himself and all are reconciled. Set to an engaging range of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock'n'roll, this Old Testament tale has something for everyone. Ararat Musical Comedy Society is currently in the process of merging with the Ararat Theatre Company and looks forward to announcing the group's new name soon, which Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat will be performed under. The lockdown forced the Society to cancel its rehearsals this week, but cast are rehearsing at home and are confident of getting back together for the final two weeks of rehearsals. With a fantastical flying car, a heart-warming love story, and a whole bunch of teamwork, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a fun-filled musical for all the family.
