I have been struggling to find obsidian on either the Island map since the ascension update or on the center map. Any Ideas for best location and way to collect obsidisn? The Doed is meant for Obsidian collecting. The Ankylo does also collect Obsidian, but Doed gathers more. Unless it has been changed to go by the wiki, which has been wrong for months, if not years, before.

I have just recently started playing ark again and I am having trouble getting large amounts of obsidian to make polymer. I have an ankylo and an argentavis but I currently cannot get any big flyers like a quetzal. Does anyone know any ways to farm large amounts of obsidian? Check how much a Doed gets, I noticed they get substantial metal from obsidian deposits, like x as much as Anky. And that's at much lower melee levels. Hm, I'm at 1x now 0. Argy is better than Quetz to me since it gets the weight reduction for a lot of the mining resources including obsidian.

Please note that the Doedicurus is not able to gather obsidian from all of the typically black glossy rocks. For instance, it can gather obsidian from the rocks in the caldera of the volcano on The Island map , but not from the rocks on the last part of the way up to the caldera.
