While the Atom isn't one of the most famous characters in DC Comics, he's one of the more significant heroes in DC history. Originally a skinny, weak-looking man, everything changed for the original Atom, Al Pratt, when he met former boxing champion, Joe Morgan. After training with Morgan for a year, Al became a skilled fighter and became a superhero, stopping crimes near his college. Though the modern version of the Atom is synonymous with the ability to shrink to microscopic size, Al Pratt never had that ability. In fact, Al didn't get any superpowers until halfway through his crime-fighting career.
