Alfalfa is the mainly residential area between the Santa Cruz, bar alfalfa, the Centre, and Santa Catalina, centred on the Plaza Alfalfa, which is thought to have been the location of the original Roman forum. Although only a couple of minutes walk from better known tourist spots, it still retains a genuine local neighbourhood feel and pride. Bar Alfalfa is located at the east end of Plaza Alfalfa in a beautiful corner building that has been home to many different establishments over the years. The owner is Italian and there are two menus: the printed bar menu that mostly offers variations on bruschetta, along with cheeses and charcuterie, and the blackboard menu that lists a selection of mainly Spanish tapas.
