Hamilton Food Share. Operating since , Hamilton Food Share is the emergency food shipping and receiving hub and emergency food systems coordinator for the network of agencies we support in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. We provide industrial-scale food resources to hunger relief agencies, operating emergency food programs open to the public. The food is equitably delivered to food banks and meal programs to ensure that people living in poverty have access to healthy food for themselves and their families. We place a greater emphasis on nutritious food. We generally accept food that can be used to build healthy meals.
Hamilton paramedics are called out to opioid overdoses almost three times a day. That was one of the figures released by Hamilton Public Health in its report on the drug situation for the quarter ending June 30 th. There were opioid-related paramedic calls in the second quarter of ; which works out to more than 19 opioid-related paramedic calls per week or 2. The number of opioid-related paramedic calls in this quarter was higher than previous years, and similar to Q1 This continued trend highlights the increasing number of overdoses that are occurring in Hamilton. When examining the age and gender distribution of the paramedic calls, almost two out of three opioid-related paramedic calls in the three-month period involved people aged 25 to 44 years and more than three out of four involved males. The same period saw 41 suspect drug-related deaths occurred in Hamilton — an average of 3.

The city did beef up its investment in warming centres and shelter spaces, including a bus warming centre.
