Beast clergyman
Beast Clergyman is a Boss in Elden Ring. He is the boss form of Gurranq Beast Clergyman. This Elden Ring Beast Clergyman Guide features boss locations, tips, strategies and videos on how to defeat the Beast Clergyman easily, as well as boss stats and lore for the Beast Clergyman. The Beast Clergyman is found in Crumbling Farum Azula and is greatly implied to be Gurranq, as he recognises you and changes his dialogue if you have given Gurranq all 9 Deathroot. Despite this, defeating this boss does not result in Gurranq's death and has no effect on your progress with his quest and vice-versa. A possible explanation for this is that Crumbling Farum Azula exists outside of time. Although the Beast Clergyman is quite large and may seem sluggish at first glance, he is far from it and you should be mindful of his high mobility and quick attacks. There are several Items and strategies for the fight against Maliketh that do not apply to the Beast Clergyman's fight, so make sure to be prepared for him as well. Bosses are unique and challenging Enemies that can be encountered all over the Lands Between. Legend bosses drop their own unique Remembrance capable of being transformed into powerful Weapons, Spells, Ashes of War, and Talismans for the player. Beast Clergyman can be found at the end stage of Crumbling Farum Azula. Once roughly half of Beast Clergyman's health has been depleted, a cutscene will play and the battle with Maliketh, the Black Blade will begin. An absorption of means no damage goes through, and a resistance of mean the enemy takes 2x damage from that source. The resistance numbers are the buildup amount to trigger it. For example, if a resistance is you must deal points of whatever aux buildup to trigger it.
I tried feeding him 6 deathroot at once and it only gave me one reward and talking to him again gave no results, beast clergyman. I tried hitting him with poison at one point, and it stunned him pretty hard, but then he just finished me off with beast clergyman hit.
Gurranq appears to be a large, hunched creature that lies isolated in the Bestial Sanctum. Constantly hungering for Deathroot , he will reward those who offer it to him. Players should go to Summonwater Village and defeat the Tibia Mariner there, then return to D at the Roundtable Hold to continue his quest. He will give you directions to go to the Bestial Sanctum in Caelid. You can teleport straight there without having to explore by using the waygate in East Limgrave. After the fourth Deathroot , he will become hostile towards you, you will have to bring his HP down until he stops attacking, then you can speak with him, reset the area, and use the fifth Deathroot for the Beast Claw Incantation.

Gurranq is a hulking, bestial clergyman who resides in the Bestial Sanctum in north-eastern Caelid. Long ago, his terrifying ferocity earned him the name "Death of the Demigods. Although still not sated, he realises that he can do no more, and that his appetite will be his sole companion. If the Tarnished had given Gurraq all the Deathroots, he is saddened by his friend's betrayal, but nonetheless attacks the Tarnished to protect the Rune of Death from them. Gurraq is overwhelmed, forcing him to use the Rune of Death to empower himself and reveal his true form as Maliketh, the Black Blade , [8] shadowbound beast of Queen Marika the Eternal. Within me without you
My sin I used a greatshield to basically cheese through it each time I died to Maliketh. You have to know not only when to parry, but which moves can even be parried. This will block most of the Beast Clergyman's attacks. Weak vs. I realized I was one deathroot short and rather than go back for it Bring me more Death. Learn your openings, learn your dodge patterns, and prepare to die a lot. Yeh Gurranq is kind of annoying imo, the wind ups for his attacks are weird and slow and they'll take him out of range etc. Global Achievements. This one can be dodged just by strafing to the right on occasion, which saves stamina, so i'd recommend it. I had this same problem with Mohg's fight in the Shunning grounds, because that chapel is fairly enclosed and strikes with his trident reach up or out off screen. When he aggro'd on me after the fourth root I just used lion claw on my spiked bat on him a couple times and he got the memo.
There are several places in Elden Ring where you can purchase new incantations, but there are few that are as useful as those sold by the Beast Clergyman.
Get your 1 attack in, then rinse and repeat until either he goes to phase 2 or you pass out from boredom. Guess I got gud? So like, why does Gurranq stay alive after this fight? Tis no matter. And the beast himself wishes for someone to take my place. Sometimes the lock-on will break, so try and reapply it when safe. I accidentally sold two of the first deathroots is there anything I should do. Or is he just gone completely? But I must admit that I found his first half of the fight quite annoying and not so fun. Does anybody else get the feeling that the game just becomes more and more unfair and undoable the more you progress or is that just me and a few other people? I tried hitting him with poison at one point, and it stunned him pretty hard, but then he just finished me off with one hit. Use the?? I am not Sated. This fight really wasn't as bad as people say, within a few tries I learnt the dodge timings because he doesn't have that many moves.
