Beity, the first venture from year-old Ryan Fakih, spotlights the nuances of Lebanese cuisine which the chef says is a genre often lumped in with little fanfare under a banner of Middle Eastern or Mediterranean food. Beity provides Fakih a platform to challenge diners and demonstrate the French cooking techniques he learned as a student at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. Fakih aims to set Beity apart with a more formal dinner menu, with a la carte options such as shish barak, Lebanese meat dumplings with garlic yogurt sauce, and pistachio-crusted lamb with honey-glazed cumin carrots and date sauce. Fakih says he and his investors are in negotiations for a location near Dearborn and Hubbard in River North. A post shared by Beity beitychicago.

Friday 1 April Reviewed as part of a press visit - see disclaimer. There are a lot of great things to shout out about in Southampton and the fabulous foodie scene we have is definitely one of them. Last summer, I was invited to try out Beity and completely fell in love, so much so I've been back a few more times since so it was about time I put something out there with a little more detail. Beity Restaurant is a family-run Lebanese restaurant serving the most beautifully authentic food - found on Southampton's High Street or the more commonly known QE2 Mile, it has to be on your must-visit list. As soon as you walk through the door the atmosphere is warm and welcoming - the word Beity means My Home in Arabic and the family behind the restaurant like to think that they're welcoming you into their home which is a lovely sentiment and something I found to be true upon each of my visits. Voted TripAdvisor Traveller's Choice Award, their philosophy has always been honest, authentic food and oh is it a dream to eat! Lebanese cuisine is steeped in ancient roots with many of the dishes being traced back thousands of years. It's my favourite way to eat - starches, fruits, vegetables, fresh fish and seafood; with animal fats only consumed sparingly. I'm usually a bit dubious of extensive menus but as the way of eating is plenty of small plates and dips, it works really well.

The cuisine of Lebanon is the epitome of the Mediterranean diet.

Beity Restaurant Southampton allows you to taste the flavours of Lebanon right in the city centre on High Street. The menu is comprised of plenty of Lebanese and Middle Eastern delicacies that are both delicious and affordable, making Beity Restaurant the perfect destination no matter the occasion. The relaxed atmosphere and friendly service ensure you will return to Beity Southampton time and time again. The very nature of the menu encourages sharing, so we highly advise paying this popular spot a visit with some of your favourite foodies so you can try out a few different dishes together. Just ensure you reserve in advance to avoid disappointment.
