We are upgrading our very ancient IKEA bed in the January sales but need to store a queen mattress beneath it used to make an uncomfortable sofa bed bearable for guests who stay for a month every year - it spends the rest of the year tucked under our bed as it doesn't fit anywhere else. I know most ottomans have a bar halfway across but as hoping I could sort of squish the mattress under it. It doesn't have to be an ottoman and plan B isna normal bedframe, its just that I prefer the divan style fabric beds so this would be the ideal solution. It wouldn't be possible in ours - it has two posts in the middle to support the slatted bit our mattress sits on.
