Bigjigs Toys is a proud family business which crafts sustainably made toys and playthings to help children learn and develop through play. We burst into the toy industry back in , when made wooden puzzles from old floorboards in our small garden shed in Kent! Things have moved on a little in the 38 years since, with our toys now sold in more than countries around the world. However, we have remained family-run since day one and this growth has only enriched our passion to create toys that inspire and excite kids. Kiddies can rustle up a roast or make Mum and Dad breakfast in bed! Our sustainably-made Simply Scandi Kitchen has been crafted to look and feel just like the real thing.

Peter was learning to be a Craft Design teacher and began making wooden toys in his spare time. Friends and family were so impressed by his wooden creations that they kept asking him to make toys for them! Realising he was onto something, Peter began making wooden jigsaws from floorboards, which he and wife Liz sold at craft fairs all across the UK. Liz and Peter were both teachers by profession so have always had child development and education at the heart of what they do. One school holiday, Peter and Liz made the decision to give up teaching and pursue the toys business full time. Bigjigs Toys was born!
