The comments are well regulated too. I had a fun time writing my own impression of a number of models over en extended time. Here are my words! Dale even kicked a couple of the racers into life, noisy joy! What museum does that! Now this racer… A great story of a moto found, revived and purposed for speed in fairly simple and short order!

I have a serious soft spot for well-crafted custom motorcycles. Generally, though, the bones of custom bikes you see were born in the 70s or 80s all low-tech and metal , carburetors and steel frames. A custom electric is a bit of a shock, if you will, but the more I think about it the more I should not be surprised. Motorcycle customization as an art form has been around since motorcycles have been around, so creating unique artwork out of an electric bike is just the natural progression of the craft. Instead of the boxy visual stumbling blocks and wide blank expanses that grace so many current electric motorcycle designs, this one manages to be swoopy with clean, continuous, beautiful lines while keeping its minimalist roots. Huge Moto machined the pieces of this build not out of steel and aluminum but ABS plastic, keeping its weight down, its materials modern, and the entire thing beautiful and interesting.

Customization leaves you free to change whatever you want, but a restomod demands good judgement and even better taste. You need to know when to zig and when to zag—treating the original bike with respect while making…. Despite its increasing popularity, the s K-series BMW remains a difficult bike to customize. Enter Chris Scholtka. Based in Cottbus, Germany, Chris splits…. The traditional definition of a street tracker is a motorcycle that has all the trappings of a flat tracker, with the addition of lights, street-biased tires, and a front brake.

But as riders around the world began focussing on other types of machines to customize — cheap CB Hondas, Yamaha Viragos, etc — the idea that anyone could customize anything to make a cool daily ride caught fire. Small shops cropped up, built bikes, and disappeared, or went professional and rode a wave of popularity not seen since the s. The people wanted something different than what factories were offering, and so began making what they wanted themselves. In a press release last week, they stated:. Tell our readers how you came to start a custom motorcycle blog: what were you doing before that? Was there any competition in ? It started as a lunchtime experiment when I was a creative director working at an ad agency in Sydney, Australia.

And those swept back pipes leading to the cocktail shaker exhausts add to the overall appearance of rapidity. A Knight in White Satin: the motorcycle that shrunk the world. Location Location. Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions. Discrete details where necessary such as the blinkers, proud where it matters: that V twin with a battleship burnish leading to the sinuous stainless pipes. Shaken not stirred! A statue at least, if not renaming it the Tinazzi Tunnel. View your notifications within Behance. Muy, muy bueno! Black Most Splendid! Clipping along the maythorn bloomed hedgerows the Dunlops ripple over the winding lanes; snecking up and down the gearbox the exhaust barks bounce back off the odd farm building or village wall.

Outstanding find; the sight and sound of that engine is a thrill though for sound the V12 Merlin is hard to beat! No word on fork internals but dollars to doughnuts those were gutted too, in favor of upgrades or emulators. Also the unit offers a little better flexibility for tuning. Evocative of halcyon race days, a far cry from a McGuiness mph lap but still with guts aplenty! It had a controls that needed a certain patience to get the most out of; from its gravelly kick-starter, long-thumbed turn signal controls, and a seating stance that was just not quite right. What a gorgeous little package of hope for the future! It stands alongside a Brough dare I say it? Although the actual Dakar ELF did have a stiffening swingarb strut on the open side, it still allowed swift field removal of the wheel. Single sided swing arms for cafes woohoo. Image by Rik Oostenbroek. Nice wheels shod in Pirellis completes a true Bobby Dazzler! Well photographed from all angles. And the rider? Orange 9C5B0D. Love the one with the cat and the bike!
