Like every other monster that resides in the Catacombs, these black demons have a chance of dropping a Dark Totem piece, which can be combined into a full totem to access the Skotizo boss fight. Be aware that this is a multi-combat area, so facing them head on without protection prayers should be avoided.

Black demons have high defensive stats making them a very long task but they also hit quite high with a max hit of To get to the Taverley dungeon, simply teleport to Falador and run towards the western wall. Climb the agility shortcut and then run northwest towards the entrance located just underneath Taverley. This pipe requires 70 Agility to crawl through. This Black Demon spot is slightly worse than the Taverley Dungeon as it is less densely populated. If you have the money, bring a cannon as well and camp them either at Taverley Dungeon or Chasm of Fire. Weaponry-wise, you are best off using the Arclight on Black Demons. However, using them on Black Demons would be considered a waste as these charges are much better spend at Abyssal Demons or Demonic Gorillas. I would only consider doing Black Demons on a main account if you have the money to use a cannon. On all my ironman accounts, I have always blocked Black Demons until the point where I unlocked Monkey Madness 2, at which point I extend the task and camp Demonic Gorillas cause they are fun and drop Zenyte Shards.

Even a player of maxed combat should not leave his screen for too long when fighting these guys in a multi-combat zone. If you know what you are doing, these can be amazing exp per hour. While they have a very high combat of up to level , and a very strong melee attack, their defense is worthless. They also are very weak to demonbane weapons. If you want to fight them with magic, that would also be a great idea. This monster definitely deserves to have a guide about it. It is one of my favorite monsters to grind on accounts that have decent stats. In short, everything an OSRS player with a busy agenda needs.
