Bloor homes review
Absolutely appalling developer and would genuinely and strongly encourage first time buyers to look elsewhere.
Endorsed by all ages. Impressive construction, smooth process and a fantastic community. We loved the layout, loved the position of the house and to be honest, from start to finish it was all very smooth sailing. Where we are, it's fantastic because we have the grandchildren and the little park's only down the road and it's a very nice community! Our home demonstration by the Site Manager, was fantastic, he showed us around and everything was to such a high standard, it was perfect. The day we moved in was seamless. When we got the keys and moved in, we were able to sit and relax in the garden.
Bloor homes review
I bought a bloor house and have had nothing but trouble the fittings are poor the standard of Finish is lazy and today I noticed that the shower had come away from the tiles because the legs under it had not been extended to the ground there are water drainage issues kitchen problems and many other things that it would take me an age to report. What a pile of rubish do not buy one, they are cheap for a reason and if you pay even near a normal house price you need to seek medical assistance, my wife just said I was being polite. Please heed my advice from experience. Not only was there pressure from the sales team to exchange contracts, when we did eventually move into our Bloor home, it was nothing like the picture advertised in the site sales office. All we were told was that instead of brick walls, the front would be rendered white. The house on display, showed a lovely front garden, a nice drive and plenty of room for parking. What we got was no pavement, a strip of earth about three feet wide in front of the study and dining room windows, leading straight on to the road. This was planted with near dead bushes in unprepared ground that were not even dug in, you could lift the plants out by there stems. The whole lot was covered in bark chippings to hide the shoddy workmanship. The interior of the house looked as if it had been lived in for six months by a family with half a dozen very boisterous children and a husband who was a DIY bodger. Paint all over every door hinge, chipped worktops in the kitchen, scuff marks and dirty marks on paintwork and walls, mastik missing and dirty in places, wardrobes fitted the wrong way round, chipped window frames, scuffed, scratched and grit embedded thresholds, the 'snag list' went on and on. Do not pay for turf to be laid in your garden, wait and get some professionals to do it. Builders laid my turf on uneven unprepared ground before we moved in. I was told it had been watered, but unfortunately not enough. The strips of turf shrank away from each other and left gaps in between making the 'lawn' look like a railway track.
Maybe they need a demonstration outside their sales office and we call the local papers and see how they like that.

Has anyone else had a bad experience with Bloor homes and part exchange? Bloor states 'no chain, no-risk' when it comes to part exchange, so we took the hit and agreed to sell our home to them at a knockdown price for a stress-free experience. This was a big relocation for us and we fell in love with the area as much as the new house. They put our home on the market straight away, and we placed a deposit on theirs. Their mortgage broker had the mortgage approved within 3 weeks.

Bloor Homes concentrate on quality, instead of quantity. We have two daughters and a grandson, so we have to have rooms for our family and friends when they want to visit us. The beauty of having a new build home I bought the house off-plan, so I could choose all my items, nice kitchen with quartz worktop, flooring, and carpets and I upgraded my bathroom, so it was just the way I wanted it.

They deserve to go under. Do yourself a big favour and no matter how much you want to live in a certain area, if it's a Bloor Home, steer well away - you have been warned. However our list gets longer and longer, now preparing to hand in the 10 month list. I could almost live in my kitchen! I had hoped LABC would be a great help, as they were my next step. I have yet to get the ladder out to check the top part of the property, though I'm not good with heights but from the ground looking up at the highest point at the back it looks as though there may be a problem. Which development are you in? I have purchased the house from Bloor Homes and not from the subcontractors and so they should take responsibility for shoddy work on the house or poor responses from the subcontractors in dealing with issues. How can you remove a shower unit and then replace the whole lot for it to then happen again. Showing 1 to 20 of results. If so old could you let me know the pros and cons of it? Bloor are incredibly defensive and always cite their 5 Star HBF ratings - yet these are irrelevant if they are failing to maintain standards - which they are. If you are reserving a property that has been built, I can only advise to check as much as possible ie cooker hood fitted straight, kitchen units not chipped, cooker fitted straight, plumbing under the sink not leaking, windows are not marked inside the double glazed unit, windows are not stained with chemicals on the outsides. We have diggers, dumper trucks, incredibly loud road sweepers aka mud spreaders seven days a week right past our front door! Thanks in advance.
