Botw vs totk
Edited on Sun 3rd September, by Cia. Two big 'Agree's from me. Distinct loss of flow about the 'moment-to-moment gameplay' a phrase I'm convinced I coined on this site when discussing BotW years back and now see all over the gaming scene moving from BotW to TotK. My absolute love of BotW stemmed from the moment-to-moment gameplay and the beautiful, natural feeling world that Hyrule felt like. I was hoping TotK would build on the beauty and naturalness, adding more little details in flowers, trees, wildlife and the weather so it felt even more 'truly wild'. But instead TotK is a game that is uglier landscape-wise - full of uplift clutter etc and more artificial fusing and ascending - fun, but take things too far away from the nature-based forest folk Link heralds from. I like BotW more, so far at least, and probably forever, but I'd avoid saying one is better than the other. Just different, and I have a preference between those differences. You can still go exploring for 2 hours without using any special powers at all in TotK. However I feel the main difference is that the new suite of special powers is simply designed to make traversing the land faster, whereas in BotW the only useful abilities for movement were very circumstantial. So basically: you use them more because they cut down on time. Edited on Thu 17th August, by Eel.
And apparently the pieces of the triforce where originally computer chips in an earlier version of the story. Total voters
Let it be said that Tears of the Kingdom is a successful sequel to the already-acclaimed Breath of the Wild. Fans were hyped for more information when the teaser was dropped back at E3 Given the skyrocketing sales, it's safe to say that it lived up to the audience's expectations. Now that Tears of the Kingdom has been on the shelves for more than a few months, some players find themselves returning to Breath of the Wild. It would appear that despite all its achievements, TotK made fans nostalgic for the prequel. Some have even noticed that while TotK really pushes the world of BotW to its limits, it still has its own share of drawbacks, and that while it may be a sequel, its predecessor still has more than enough going for it.
Since Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild and the game takes place in the same world, comparison videos were bound to be plenty, showcasing the differences between both titles. Nintendo has released Tears of the Kingdom, a new sequel to the hugely popular Breath of the Wild. But with the new game sharing the same map as its predecessor, many fans were initially concerned that the two games would be too similar. Having reviewed The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , we can confirm that those concerns are ill-founded. There are dozens of improvements and tweaks to make Tears of the Kingdom feel like a proper sequel rather than just an expansion. This allows you to create bridges, or even wheeled carts that your horse can pull. New Zonai technology can also be used with your constructions.

In using the same overarching gameplay systems as Breath of the Wild , Tears of the Kingdom also took the opportunity to prevent some of the previous game's exploits - which could be a letdown to players who spent time learning and mastering some of BOTW 's unintended mechanics. There are some high quality materials that are needed to upgrade Link's armor, and some aren't even worth a full level 4 upgrade. The Champions' Ballad seemed to remedy this, giving more background and personality to the established Champions: Mipha, Revali, Daruk, and Urbosa. I loved both of the stories, but I liked TotK's a lot more. Speaking of, kind of a side tangent, the lack of guardians is definitely missed, but then I feel the overall feel of the game is not meant to be as dangerous or foreboding but oddly more melancholy. Definitely feel the similarities. Not really sure exactly what the implications are, but I remember thinking, did the Zonai force their rule over the much more primitive people living on the surface?
The Switch was a phenomenon at launch and part of the reason why it succeeded so well out the gate was The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
TotK may be a better game in many aspects, but in no way does it replace BotW. Everything melded together perfectly into one cohesive whole. Sure, it's possible to complete the Divine Beasts without unlocking a single Memory, but the Memories can make the story feel more personal. What do you need help on? BotW being the sort of reintroduction to a much more freeform of gameplay allowed for much less handholding and consequently led to experiencing the story, if at all, at your own pace and in whatever order. However, their Abilities were easier to use and weren't all assigned to one button i. Like I said, all I ever did was fuse rocks to my weapons to make them just that much stronger and more durable. For example, a player can attach a spear to a wooden pole to extend its reach. While Tears of the Kingdom expands on Breath of the Wild 's gameplay in many ways, the game's controls and user interface also suffer somewhat from the expanded gameplay options. Farosh's body won't harm Link, but storm clouds and lightning always strikes, meaning if Link's wearing anything metal , he's going to get zapped.
