I felt lucky and excited to be a part of the opening night, it was the first time I attended an in-person industry event in about nine months. You should now I take the pandemic very seriously, the first thing I did was request an outdoor table. As a Francophile I enjoy all of the Boucherie locations. The menu, created by executive chef Bill Brasile formerly of Minetta , promised French classics, a very serious meat program, bistro favorites and a drink program that centers around absinthe-driven signature cocktails. If you enjoy wine instead, you can always opt for the extensive wine menu, most of which is sourced from France. Pescatarians will not be disappointed either, Boucherie made sure to have a spacious seafood raw bar. One thing is for sure, the Boucherie staff just wants you to feel welcomed and be happy. I ordered the Boucherie Old Fashioned cocktail with escargot to start.

On Christmas Eve, we were looking for a place to eat when we finally decided to go to Boucherie near Union Square. I love this place: huge with definitely the feel of being in a Parisian brasserie. The restaurant was decorated for the occasion, with a big tree at the entrance. I loved the fact that they offer drinks like this so you get excited to get one and are not just getting soda, coffee or tea if you do not want alcohol. My drink was so good: also refreshing, it had a pieces of raspberries in it that added a nice texture. For the Holidays, they had a Pate de foie, a duck liver and foie gras mousse served with toasted bread and a cherry compote that was perfect with the pate. This is a nice dish that we often make at home as easy to make.
Red wine poached eggs, pearl onions, bacon and lardons, red wine sauce. Two eggs any style, roasted potatoes, bacon, toast mixed greens with Coffee, Tea, or Orange Juice. Olive oil confit sardines, potato salade and fresh herbs, dijon mustard vinaigrette. Bibb lettuce, dijon mustard vinaigrette, fresh herbs and fried shallots. Beef tenderloin, capers, cornichons, shallots, quail egg and pommes gaufrettes. Endives, walnuts, blue cheese and grapes, raspberry vinaigrette. Roasted scallops, brown butter and butternut squash mousseline, hazelnuts and herb salad.
