We got a great deal, including RT airfare, and decided to try what everyone seems to be raving about. The ship: This was our first cruise on Viking. It is a gorgeous ship. There are many comfortable seating areas.

Other ships you could see, but not like this.

Should have hustled to Vancouver rather than spend an extra day at sea due to a storm. This was a nice port, in a very interesting and beautiful city. We decided to spend a day here after getting off the boat. Should have spent more. Great shopping and eats. Spent time in the Gas Lamp area.

We opted to not do an excursion and go out in our own. Oak Bay is a nice little village with shops and eateries. Very friendly. We walked about 10 min to Oak Bay Marina. I highly recommend this especially if you have children. There was about 6 of them just waiting. They will do tricks like spin for you and splash you. One kept hitting his belly.
