The new awards, run by Channel 4 in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, are voted for by the public and "honour both emerging and established British comedy talent". The nominees are derived from the votes from the public's choices from the longlist, which was available to vote on in October. Voting on the shortlist is now active at thenationalcomedyawards. The winners will be announced at "a glitzy ceremony" at the Camden Roundhouse in London on December 15th, with the ceremony then airing on Channel 4.
