Paramedics assessed nine patients after the collision on Brisbane Road in Biggera Waters just after 7pm. Queensland Police Inspector Scott Knowles said the female passenger suffered compound fractures and was still in hospital this afternoon, but that both drivers and the Jeep passenger had been discharged. Inspector Knowles said it was believed the jeep had "crossed to the opposite side of the road and collected the bus head-on". He said witnesses told police they saw the Jeep travelling at a high-speed. The Jeep driver, a year-old man from nearby Arundel, has undergone drug and alcohol testing.

Three dead as truck and sedan collide at major Gold Coast intersection. Three people have died after a multi-vehicle car crash on the Gold Coast this afternoon. Paramedics were called to the corner of Arundel Drive and Brisbane Road about pm, where a sedan and a truck towing a boat had collided. The ABC understands one of the vehicles crossed to the wrong side of the road before the collision. Two people died at the scene. A man believed to be in his 50s died in hospital. A year-old male was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition, while five other people received minor injuries but did not require hospitalisation.
