No problem I thought, get replacement, remove radio, locate aerial lead, release old aerial from off side of van, tape new aerial lead to old and pull through from inside van. In the end I had to semi remove the radio housing to make room for drill, then drop the speaker adjacent to the radio housing and so locate the end of the new aerial lead and drill hole to feed aerial cable through to back of radio. As my wife always says "that must have been designed by a man". They are made by Ring and ours had never worked right [the sliding sections came apart and the pivot section gave up the ghost]. Thanks for your advice, but I decided to go ahead and replace the arial rather than take the caravan all the way back to the dealer. I managed to sort out the problem with the radio arial but not quite as I had planned. I could only find a "Ring" Arial at my local accessories shop so I decide to try and fit that.
