Southern Cross Care has operated CGV since and seeks to redevelop the site to future proof its operation in this location and to create a better environment with better services for residents. A Development Control Plan DCP has also been approved alongside the planning proposal to ensure the established master plan principles are retained. While the planning proposal aims to increase the density, the amount of open space has been retained and consolidated to create better and more user-friendly open spaces which are distinct in range and in their characteristics. The additional dwellings also free up underutilised housing stock for older residents that relocate to CGV which will assist with affordability and housing stock in general. The master plan considers future possibilities of intergenerational learning and contributes actively to the urban context, providing amenity and services to the surrounding residents.
