Background: The use of wearable cuffless blood pressure BP devices is becoming commercially prevalent with little published validation information. Most devices rely, at least in part, on the relationship between pulse arrival time PAT and BP, a theoretical fundamental relationship that was first commercially exploited in with the release of the Casio BP digital watch. Device accuracy was determined by comparison to a conventional cuff-based BP device measurements. Methods: Twenty participants 11 female, 9 male had BP measured using both devices at rest, during a 5-minute isometric hand-grip exercise and at 1-minute post-exercise. Results: Due to bidirectional scatter of BP estimation by the BP device, there was no significant difference between the reference device and the BP Conclusions: Despite being an industry first, the Casio BP watch employed a method that gives a great chance of accuracy: a two point, individualized calibration method - more detailed than calibration methods in more modern devices.

Was just thinking yesterday, I haven't heard from you in awhile. Does anyone know where I might find instructions for these? It i impossible for me at least to figure out how to do anything with either, and I'm sure these both work-just replaced button cells with a CR for the blood pressure watch and a CR for the TV remote control watch. Chas-I owe you one! Thank you so much, exactly what I was hoping for, I will use both. A surprise- the blood pressure monitor watch apparently stored my father's settings! Since he passed away 14 years ago, this ended up being even more special now as I see how it works. I was surprised to see it was newer than I thought. I had used the TV watch so I know it works. I had found this video re the BP watch but the manual is key.

My blood pressure became elevated as I aged and I am now in my seventies, so I need to keep an eye on it and I have a blood pressure machine at home. I thought though how much more convenient it would be if a watch on the wrist could measure it and good old Casio used to make one in their gadget heavy days. I bought this one because it looked in good condition and was said to be working. The battery was shot when it arrived, a push of the light button reset the watch. So I changed the battery but now there was no sound. On inspection the alarm spring was missing, so I fabricated one from a bit of wire and fixed that.

Diastolic is good and my pulse at 48 is fantastic for someone of my age. In addition, your right hand can only touch the two sensors when measuring because otherwise you would create an alternate conduction path. Glad to see you up and about. It is the BP functionality though that is the star of the show here. Most devices rely, at least in part, on the relationship between pulse arrival time PAT and BP, a theoretical fundamental relationship that was first commercially exploited in with the release of the Casio BP digital watch. So I fabricated another connection and voila the thing worked. The module number is actually and you really need to read the manual to appreciate what the watch can do. Do you know if the BP module got upgraded in the latter compared to the former? Results: Due to bidirectional scatter of BP estimation by the BP device, there was no significant difference between the reference device and the BP Systolic a bit high but not bad for a man in his seventies. Or am I wrong? For the system to work properly, the watch's backplate must make contact with your bare wrist. The pad on the right is one lead of a two-lead ECG probe that's built into the watch, the other lead is on the watch backplate. There doesn't seem to be any competition in blood pressure measuring even from the Apple watch haha , unlike pulse measuring. Diastolic is good and my pulse at 48 is fantastic for someone of my age. Then it seemed the sensor wasn't operating properly, so opening it up again, it appeared to need a connection to the metal cases back. So I fabricated another connection and voila the thing worked. I sense these will be gradually gaining in collectability. After you input your normal resting blood pressure, you're good to go. Unusually for Casio the module number is not stamped on the caseback. 1. It is a pity, that now I can not express - I am late for a meeting. But I will be released - I will necessarily write that I think.
