These swimmers will spend a majority of their time in the lower leisure pool where the depth is between 3 and 4 feet 1m Lifesaving skills include defence methods, victim removals and rolling over and supporting a victim face up in shallow water. The Rookie program is a great first step to working on skills required to become a lifeguard. Their new bag of tricks includes handstands and completion of the Canadian Swim to Survive Standard.
