Back when Blade Strangers was announced I got very interested in the characters shown, as I usually do for crossovers. I was very familiar with Cave Story and managed to get a hold of Umihara Kawase , but Code of Princess was a difficult title to find. Thankfully Nicalis and Studio Saizensen had my back when they announced Code of Princess EX , an enhanced version of the 3DS title exclusive to Nintendo Switch which boasts various quality of life upgrades and differences. When monsters begin to appear more frequently, the peasants of the kingdom of DeLuxia feel dissatisfied with how their king is handling the situation and all turn to the rival Kingdom of Distrun for help. After news of the invasion reached the king, he trusts his daughter, princess Solange, with both the ancient magic sword DeLuxcalibur and the fate of the world. When she pulls the sword from its pedestal everything explodes and the story nearly ends there, but a young thief girl named Ali finds her amongst the rubble and helps her escape. The two team up to escape the city, meeting cocky elf bard Allegaro and necromancer named Zozo along the way. Eventually, they meet more allies and discover the Distrun army is, in fact, the source of all the monsters, so this rag-tag party must figure out a way to save the world from both them and the rebirth of a year old demon. Many plot points just happen with no prior build-up and all of them your typical story tropes. The main party consists of eight playable heroes; this is apparently an improvement over the original, which only gave you control of the first four. They also all get experience so no character feels left behind, even if one gets introduced at lvl 1 waaaay too late into the game to be useful. Each one of the heroes are pretty interesting with the exception of Solange who is about as generic a hero as they come: a bubbly princess archetype who wants to do the right thing but actually has the strength to reach her ideals cares for her friends and is too quick to trust others. Ali, the de facto leader of the fellowship, is by far the best character of the main four. Zozo and Allegaro less so, but they both managed to get a good laugh out of me and they are fairly likeable characters, as are all of the antagonists. The character writing is very good in this game, even with Solange being a bit stale.

This is the latest date that a Google Cache archive shows that the game was available to download. The game had also been delisted in Australia but remained available across Europe. Presumably a short time later, the game was relisted in North America but it is unclear if it ever returned to sale in Australia. Then, on March 25th, , Atlus announced that the game would be delisted again, this time at the end of the month:. Code of Princess will no longer be available on the Nintendo eShop after March 31st. Get the game before then!

Review Code of Princess 3DS. For a while now, hack-and-slash has been significantly undermined as a legitimate genre in video gaming, but Code of Princess doesn't care about any of that. Being touted as a spiritual successor to Sega If for some reason you've always wanted the action RPG Code of Princess on the Nintendo 3DS but still haven't got around to purchasing it after all these years, now is the time to take action. Next week, on 31st March, Atlus will be removing the game from the eShop. Here's the official tweet Japanese firm Agatsuma Entertainment has revealed that it is closing its doors. Liquidation will occur on March 31st, The firm was perhaps best known for assisting with

I was pretty excited by the announcement of a release date, and briefly crushed when we learned Atlus was making no promises as to what outlets were getting review copies. Luckily, the next day brought good news. Code of Princess is, at its core, a brawler. Single-player is divided into the main Campaign mode, Free Play, and a variety of bonus missions. Campaign is the meat and potatoes of the game. I, of course, went with the titular princess, Solange, who wields a ridiculously large sword. Money dropped from enemies can be used later at a shop run by an Egyptian cat named Marco Neko. Replaying boss encounters usually nets a good XP return. Even with minimal grinding, you can beat the campaign in just a few hours.

Griseous core

This is such a great game, even for casual in-and-out play. Customer reviews. July 31, Store name:. Future US. The RPG elements barely make a difference in fights, the armour and accessories you get are randomly generated at the "shops" if you can call them that and they're just renamed constantly, every time you go to a "shop". The game is pretty fun for a number of reasons I will list below, but has some strange design decisions and stylistic annoyances. Customers also appreciate the beautiful art, and unique characters. It's extremely intrusive and its a chore. I don't think that's uncommon, either, since many co-op modes lack story all together in modern games. The plane system blends beat-em-up with fighting game elements, making it more unique and more geared towards combos and such. However, others say that it was just boring, unsatisfying, and repetitive. So, please be patient! I feel I made the right choice to buy this game because it is Action Packed and it has a Lot of stuff to unlock and do in it!

It was later rereleased in digital form in the North American, European, and Australian Nintendo e-Shops on January 3, and March 28, respectively. There have always been two races in the world. Man and monster, both enjoying a separate peace.

In , the team behind the first game has expressed interest in developing a sequel to the game for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Solange's team eventually discovers that Queen Distiny is actually a cover identity for fallen angel Dios Diablos Distille, who in the past tried to destroy the world but was defeated, and now was trying to recover her strength to try again to destroy the world. This is what makes Nintendo Life the best. Nlife Media. Ultimate does. It's extremely intrusive and its a chore. You hold down the R button, but rather than skipping everything, you fast-forward through it. All Positive Negative To wrap it up, the game play is super fun, the story is highly enjoyable, and the voice work is incredible. I have heard nothing about an anime. Submit Feedback. The dialogue is captivating.
