The only thing not being stock is that my bootloader's unlocked. The reason could be the unlocked bootloader. I've had my bootloader unlocked for over a year now and I've never had problems because of it so I would be very surprised if that helped. Are you can root the phone by installing magisk. And use magisk manager to hide root for those apps you are seeking to run. Yeah you basically if you have unlocked the bootloader, you HAVE to root your phone with Magisk and hide Google Pay from root to make it work
