OCC uses Okta Security to add multifactor authentication to most student applications. As part of our process to secure your student account and data, we are constantly updating our applications to support this extra protection. If you have never logged in before, you can login with your temporary password and then you will be prompted to set up OCC Okta security questions and create a new password. Your OCC Okta password will expire and prompt you to change it every six months. This authentication combines the use of a username and password like you currently use with an additional factor such as a push notification, text message or voice call. You will only be required to verify your identity when you are not connected to an OCC network such as at home or an off-campus coffee shop. If you are in the campus library using an OCC computer, you will not need to verify anything. From there, you'll get step-by-step instructions on how to set everything up. You can also follow our detailed instructions. When logging in to a device not connected to the OCC network once your MFA is set up, you will be required to verify your identity by either responding to a push notification from the Okta app, or entering a security code sent to you via text or phone call.
