When Damian Wayne originally joined the Teen Titans , he was a boisterous, irritable brat who couldn't get along with anyone. Most of the team had given up on him, but there was one member who wouldn't. Slowly but surely, Raven showed Damian how to relax and get along with others. She saw a kindred spirit in him, and the two would eventually become each other's strongest supporters. Raven saw Damian for more than a Robin with a spoiled attitude, and Damian saw Raven for more than Trigon's cursed host.

Damian meets Rachel when his actions got him added to the Teen Titans, in hopes that they'll help him understand the true meaning of team work and to form bonds with those who are close to his young age. This causes Damian to reveal that he saw parts of her mind as well, including visions about her demon father Trigon. When he continues to inquire about the creature, Raven feels insulted that Damian is meddling in her privacy and angrily tells him to stay away from her before entering a portal she conjures. This causes Damian to develop a strong untrusting and suspecting view of Raven and desire to learn more about her past. Damian found it odd that he couldn't find much on Rachel, even though Kory does explain a bit about her and how the Titans is a safe place for people like them. In order to help Damian become friendlier with the the other Titans, Starfire decides to take them the next night to a local amusement park. While the other Titans enjoy themselves playing games, Damian and Raven both seem to be rather displaced and awkward, due to their respective anti-social and introverted attitudes. This causes them to spend most of the trip together, giving them time to bond.
