You are so well respected, idolised and have influenced so many people young and old in our industry but have remained humble the whole time," one industry mate said. Login or signup to continue reading. Mr Ballinger, 36, died in a truck crash on the NSW north coast on Wednesday, September 4, prompting a flood of tributes from across the state. He was remembered as a gentleman and icon of the NSW transport industry and many of his colleagues in the industry will be in Bathurst on Saturday to pay their respects. At the conclusion, a convoy of trucks - led by a police escort - will complete a lap of the Mount before close family and friends make their way to Bathurst Lawn Cemetery for the burial. Truck drivers planning to join the convoy have been told no trailers will be allowed but the pit area at Mount Panorama will be open for overnight parking on Saturday night only.

If you are unfamiliar with the town of Bathurst then quite frankly we can never be friends. The Bathurst Yep, that is the town of Bathurst. Therefore it was a real eye opener for me when I was down there at the end of October, rather than the second week of October and found the town a whole lot quieter than it had been the few weeks earlier. I also had a lot less Scotch in my system than I had in Bathurst a couple of weeks earlier too, but no one needs to hear those stories.
