The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is an action RPG that permits players the chance to shape their character's very own story. Much of what makes Skyrim so engaging is the countless multiple-choice scenarios the game forces onto the Dragonborn and the freedom it gives players to align themselves with different factions. As part of Skyrim 's Dawnguard DLC , the player is forced to decide whether they should join the Dawnguard faction and become a Vampire-hunter or side with Harkon and become a Vampire Lord. While both routes come with unique perks and bonuses, one is arguably better than the other. If players decide to join the Dawnguard, they will gain access to Fort Dawnguard and will be able to interact with most of the members who reside there.
Dawnguard or vampire
Use this Skyrim Dawnguard walkthrough to help you get through the main quest and wrap up all of the side distractions of this vampire-themed DLC expansion. You'll have to decide between becoming a Vampire Lord or Vampire Hunter in Skyrim , and this branching decision means it can get pretty complicated, so a guide might come in handy. Of course, the Skyrim Anniversary Edition includes Dawnguard and all of the other DLC , and this questline is still a lot of fun, even after all these years. Whether you're stuck looking for a way out of the Dwarven ruins, still trying to find the last Jiubs Opus page in Dawnguard, or simply trying to pick up every major item, this Skyrim Dawnguard walkthrough will be there for you every step of the way. To get started, you're going to want to open your quest menu up and look for "Dawnguard" in the list. Selecting the quest will place a marker in the southwest corner of the map, and following this marker will take you to Dayspring Canyon and Fort Dawnguard. Dawnguard brings with it a new NPC, Galathil, who can change your face for a meager sum of g. The Dawnguard DLC offers two new dragon breeds. If you are at least level 60, Revered Dragons will spawn at random around Skyrim, just like any other dragon. The advantage is you can use the awesome new Vampire Lord form, complete with bat teleportation, semi-flight, and its own skill tree. Unlike a werewolf, you can shift in and out of this form at will. This drastically improves the power of beast form. The skill tree powers are as follows:. If you become a member of the Dawnguard, you can spend gold to hire an armored troll to follow you. There are some fancy new Dragon Shouts that can be learned.
No matter which faction players choose to align themselves with, the Dawnguard questline will always play out in one specific way. If you go the side of Dawnguard, dawnguard or vampire, you'll miss the only tutorial on how to actually play as a VL. An alternative way to find dawnguard or vampire is to start at the gap in the wall and continue along the main path until you reach the short, raised platform that serves as a hub to four different path branches.

The second scroll you need is the Dragon Elder Scroll. Take Serana and exit the crypt. RJ 17 The Sound of Silence. I really enjoyed the Dawnguard. Use it to descend into the forge. You can speak to the kid there or look for an overturned cart just to the south. This removes your lycanthropy if you have it , makes you a vampire if you aren't already one , and adds the Vampire Lord ability. As you move towards the wall from the entrance to the Soul Cairn, you should spot a small building with stairs leading up to its barred entrance, which is locked by the two blue orbs on either side of it. To reach this area, head towards the marker on your map. I'm not sure if the Dawnguard route has similar issues. They just tend to be pretty fun. I never saw the point of becoming a vampire; yeah, you become more powerful as a result, but there's a lot of downsides to consider as well. The whole DLC is intended to be played at somewhat lower levels, say Tech Support.

This is perfect time to turn into a Vampire Lord and clear this place out. Cancel X. Barakah 11 years ago 4 To be honest unless you plan on actually using the Vampire Lord form a lot, you're better off going with the Dawnguard. You also get all the upgrades for the Crossbow though, so that's pretty sweet. DocOdine 11 years ago 10 If you are RPing, pick a side that fits. Just after passing through the gap in the wall, look for a merchant soul standing next to a cart, which is in front of a large structure. After he does so, speak to Harkon and your next two quests will start up Seeking Disclosure and Chasing Echoes. I've tried both.
