Synthesis Materials are obtained through a number of means, and can be combined to synthesize useful Items and Accessories. They are organized alphabetically below. Recommended farming locations for each material are also provided. Since many of the skills and equipment that aid in material farming are not unlocked until much later in the game, the recommended farming locations refer to the best places to farm materials after completing the events of your first visit to Hollow Bastion. Up to 3 can spawn in this area, one on each level; the floor, the small dazzling stone kingdom hearts 1.5 up the staircase, and up on the circular area above you where you found the pieces to the door. One attack that can take out a good chunk of damage is the Battleships charge attack.

Special Heartless are enemies that hide in obscure locations and drop certain rare Items when interacted with in a specific way. These Items are used for synthesizing useful Items in the Item Workshop. If a Gigas Shadow hits you, it'll vanish. For defeating Gigas Shadows, you'll see different drop rates depending on how many you beat. For deflecting an attack, you gain 10 EXP.

If you jump off the short bridge and down into this area, a couple of White Knights might appear. More treasure chests! Shiny Crystal. But they do disappear often, so it can make the fight really annoying. By standing on the ledge, once a Sniper Wild gets close to you, you can Lock On and spam your Thunder spell. Mythril Shards - These can get a liiiiittle bit tricky. Try to keep your distance as well. Mystery Goo. Locking on and bashing to hell usually works pretty well. Bandits are little turban-wearing heartless that like to spin and throw their swords all over the place.

Fury Stones can only be obtained by defeating Gigas Shadows. These unique Heartless appear only in the Bizarre Room in Wonderland and seven appear at a time.

Spirit Shard. More treasure chests! Lightning Stone - The Black Ballade is actually pretty fun, in my opinion. Defeat three waves of these and the Giant Shadows will appear. Guessing incorrectly too many times will also result in the heartless disappearing altogether. Angel Stars look like winged Christmas ornaments and Invisibles are.. Mythril Stone - Here we have Agrabahs special heartless. Oh lawdie. Spirit Gems - Air Soldier! Go figure. Even with Encounter Plus on, you must move two areas away in order for the special shadows to reset. It then becomes visible for a short amount of time. These are found in the End of the World at the Final Rest. Would you look at that ;] For the most part, you can find quite a few of the little flying magicians everywhere, but I do strongly suggest collecting the shards related to them before Hollow Bastion. This pretty much only includes the Shards and Gems, but trust me, it could save you a few hours!
