Watched Jul 07 , To be completely transparent, I went into the Insidious franchise treating it like a chore. Recently, I've felt a tad overwhelmed with the amount of franchise prep I've been doing for the Podcast. It seems like every week we have been covering a franchise. I love doing it, but it's like damn how many franchises are there? I watched the first two Insidious films earlier this week for the first time, and I thought the first one was solid, and I honestly can't remember much of what happened in the second one. Insidious: The Red Door completely recontextualized the franchise for me in a way that I could have never expected. Owen-core to the max I mean, come on from the art school, charcoal drawings, paintings, and even a Destroy Lonely song playing like be fucking for real. College-age Dalton Lambert was the emotional gateway that I was missing in the previous films, or at least the ones I watched. There are two more Insidious films I have yet to watch I wasn't planning on doing that, now I will.
