Dimorphodon Equesica is another of the island's Jekyll-and-Hyde creatures. It is normally passive, sometimes even friendly. When provoked, it becomes very aggressive, even against larger creatures it has no business fighting Dimorphodon can make short work of smaller opponents, however, due to its large but lightweight skull and teeth. Barely a meter tall, Dimorphodon should be low on the food chain, but its incredible speed and surprisingly strong bite makes it fairly dangerous, especially en masse as they tend to attack in groups. A flock of angry or hungry Dimorphodon can take down prey several times their size, so survivors should take care not to hunt near where a flock is gathered. Dimorphodon is one of the creatures on the island that is easily domesticated for companionship. But its use in combat is also quite clear: it will hunt in large groups to seek out enemy dino riders directly, harassing them to no end -- regardless of the might of the mount upon they may be astride! The Dimorphodon is a small carnivorous pterosaur about the size of a Dilophosaurus found on the Ark. It is tamable but not rideable. It's main function according to the dossier is attacking in swarms, targeting the riders of dinos rather than the dinos themselves. Dimorphodons tend to stay close in groups of , however they can rarely be seen alone. They do not attack the player unless they are attacked or an egg is stolen. They fight using the Raptor tactic hit and run and tend to dart towards their target, deliver a strike, then dart away. A small but dangerous flyer, the Dimorphodons are small, fast, and very hard to hit. They are great pets and hunters once tamed, but in the wild, they will attack if provoked and are very hard to hit for players without ranged melee weapons pikes and spears and mounts that do not have vertical attacking capabilities.

Dimorphodon Equesica are bird-like carnivores with a reactive temperament that appeared during the early Jurassic period. These creatures are small but not to be mistaken to be helpless as their large jaw is bigger than a human skull and its bite can prove to be agonizing to creatures. They can usually be seen flying in casually in many places and will occasionally land to take a rest and even walk around. A Dimorphodon will fly past humans as if there was no one around but even the simplest attack, either accidental or intentional, will cause them along with any Dimorphodon to become aggressive and follow across long distances in an attempt to kill its attacker. While they are not the most durable of creatures, they make a good shoulder pet and will attempt to take large bites off of enemies that attack its owner and can even be thrown at a target, allowing it to get a good boost at it goes for the kill. Dimorphodon will usually be passive but regardless of what attacks them, they will fight back even if it leads to their own death. Given its size being smaller than other creatures, it is believed that these flying beasts are at the bottom of the food chain but due to their large jaw that provides them with the ability to take powerful bites and its capability of flying fast, it surprisingly survives most situations. A pack of Dimorphodon can prove to be very dangerous, especially when they all attack with different timings, making them able to take down even the largest of creatures. While a Dimorphodon will not usually attack survivors, once a single one has approached the survivor, it will call its pack which may lead to the pack attacking them. Although these dangerous creatures may appear to be very vicious, they are quite easily tamed and will prove to be very helpful for those that carry one around or even have a whole flock protecting them.

Couple this with the ability to use the spyglass while riding a dino can make it easier to kill players with them. After reading all posts regarding dimorphodons, along with my own experiences, I have some input on their usefulness and their negative qualities. Being flyers, a small swarm of Dimorphodons can easily reach and quickly break open any hive when whistled to attack it, without angering the drones, provided the player keeps a far enough distance away while they do this. Expect to take shots that are not perfect; if you wait for perfect shots, you will never KO this particular dinosaur. They tend to be high leveled there as well. In large groups they can become quite a menace, trying to tame one when a large pack is present is very hard so you may want to knock out or kill the others so you can tame the one you want.
