Disco Ayala is a part of the Horizontes Las Cuevas Hotel , only meters away from the colonial quarters of Trinidad. Located on the slopes and top of a hill, guests have a view of the city, the beautiful coastal landscape of the Caribbean Sea and the Escambray mountain range. A cave with several chambers inside the hilltop was developed to house a disco. The cave is recommended for its excellent acoustics. The Disco Ayla is quite popular among locals and up to 4, guests make party every day until 3 in the morning. It seems it is not advertised among tourists, they find it by word of mouth.

I fell in love with Cuba after my first visit back in September of I ended up having to leave early that year due to the unexpected arriving of Hurricane Irma. According to legend, the club was named after a serial killer named Carlos Ayala who used to kidnap children from Trinidad, bring them to the cave, and murder them. This took place around and the guy was executed a few years after. Yea, I may not have gone if I knew, even reading about it gave me goosebumps. However, that was a long time ago! Today, Disco Ayala is perfectly safe and a must-visit when in Trinidad! I booked a shared taxi through a nearby 4-star hotel.
