Our guides and trackers not only know the ways of the African bush, but are able to follow the various fascinating animals — from lions and elephants to leopards and other nocturnal animals — by reading the signs of the wild and following them, even off-road. Although the risk of malaria is reduced in the winter months when it is very dry, it is wise to take precautions during your visit and talk to your doctor before travelling. The family-owned reserve affords the chance to see all big safari animals, including the Big Five and cheetahs. The ever-elusive leopard has often been spotted and is quite habituated throughout the Sabi Sands Game Reserve. The best time for game viewing at Djuma Game Reserve is in winter when the vegetation is sparse, dry, and open, making it easier to spot wildlife. The winter months are dry, so between May and September the animals tend to gather around water sources.
