She is Luz 's mentor and King 's adoptive mother. She ran away from home as a teen after being cursed by her older sister Lilith , a curse which causes her to turn into the owl beast. Eda eventually became the most-wanted criminal and the most powerful wild witch on the Boiling Isles until her curse ended up entirely incapacitating her magical ability. During the Day of Unity , whilst attempting to save King from the Collector , she lost control of her curse and attacked, resulting in the Collector holding her captive in the Archive House. Eventually, she, Luz, and King convince the Collector what true friendship is, but not long after, Emperor Belos corrupts the Isles in an attempt to destroy it. After a grueling battle, they manage to defeat Belos and end his reign of terror.

She is a powerful witch with an eccentric personality. This allowed her to strike a fast friendship and mentorship with the similarly odd Luz. Eda lives for the moment, and while she is an outcast of society, she lives her life without caring about what others think of her. Eda even inspires Luz to embrace her quirks and to not let others bring down her weirdness. Initially, Eda Clawthorne comes off as bizarre and easily distracted, but the first episode also makes it clear that she is exceptionally powerful and a talented witch. Although she did not excel in school, she always had a natural talent for magic and understood how to quickly pick up on newer forms of magic. Eda also understands how the world works and how society is run. It also helps her come up with quick plans to get herself and Luz out of a jam. When Luz discovers that the Demon Realm works by placing witches into specific covens, she learns that Eda never joined one. This sets up a good example for Luz by teaching the girl to be both an individual and a good person. Eda wanted nothing to do with Luz at the beginning of The Owl House , but she ended up quickly liking her nonetheless. Eda is an unconventional teacher with strange teaching methods that confuse Luz at first, but she ends up learning magic fairly quickly. She is playful and kind to her, but she knows when to provide wisdom and advice as an adult.

Later on, when he and Luz are freed from Eda clawthorne mind, Eda shows genuine concern for Hunter when he begins suffering a nervous breakdown, and even cars doblaje to help him, though he is too traumatized in the moment to accept her aid and runs off. She was cursed by her older sister, Lilith , to transform into the ancient Owl Beast via a scroll made by the Grand Huntsman, although she managed to harness this form and become a harpy. She is also the mentor of Luz Noceda , the lover of Raine Whispers , and the roommate and later adoptive mother of King. Eda manages to quell the children by feeding them apple slices and reading them a story. The Warden steals King's paper crown and crushes it when Eda, King, and Luz bust into the Conformatorium to retrieve it, which leads to Eda Blowing a Raspberry and shooting his own fire at him.
