It's already been over a whole month since went edhrec equipment off into the sunset, and with it came a ton of awesome new cards for Magic. As with most recent years, the game had a strong uptick in the amount of legendary creatures, edhrec equipment, coinciding with the rise of Commander.

Today is the eighth and final day that I'll be looking at a Commander from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty or it's Commander set that debuted with it. Good bye NEO! Here are my decks for the first This deck uses a number of big cost cards that have cheaper play costs like Blasphemous Act , the evoke-ing of Mournwhelk , the delve of Tombstalker and the suspend of Greater Gargadon to get big damage triggers and then be castable that turn. Love it a lot!

Hello, and welcome back to Conditions Allow. In this series I take a legendary creature with a drawback and try to turn it into a strength. With some commanders, that takes a little bit of work, but a drawback doesn't necessarily have to be a weakness, and perhaps no commander demonstrates that better than Massacre Girl, Known Killer. Massacre Girl, Known Killer lets you draw a card whenever one of your opponents' creatures die as long as its toughness was less than one. That isn't a particularly hard ask for mono-black. I don't actually want to play either of those creatures, though. While neither is quite as oppressive as Toxrill, the Corrosive , they still drag games out as you repeatedly wipe the board. Even with your commander drawing a ton of cards, a deck dedicated to killing creatures will take a while to actually win, so I'm much more interested in what's possible with wither. This makes your creatures much more deadly in combat, leaving a lasting impression and even threatening indestructible creatures. It also means that, when your creatures take down another in combat, Massacre Girl, Known Killer will draw a card. Wither doesn't just apply to combat damage, either. Black doesn't have a ton of Prodigal Sorcerer s, but even just Orcish Bowmasters is much more threatening with wither. My first thought, however, was how wither interacts with first strike. Alternately, Drana can safely block any four-power creature attacking you.

Throne of Eldraine is an excellent recent addition which also helps draw cards when Massacre Girl, Known Killer is destroyed.

Then there are the Shamans, Warlocks, and Wizards that are populating this card's page. Both make for excellent artifact decks and are great choices if you're looking to build something a little different on a budget. Yeah, I'm kinda into this. Whereas I wasn't very interested in the older ones to the point that when my brother's friends learned the game off this, I handed them Commander precons instead this one really grabbed my attention. If you built her with Midnight Banshee and Harbinger of Night , what's your experience been? It's here for the latter, which is also a Relentless Assault variant for another mana. And there is my decklist! Fine, whatever! I would like Nahiri, the Lithomancer to kill someone with commander damage. It doesn't leave either!

It still doesn't get around exile or bounce removal. This card is wonderful. There was even some discussion of possible combo potential when he came out, so it's even more surprising that there's only 45 lists at the moment. Both are worth it! I included around 25 mostly Samurai with the trigger that Raiyuu has from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty as well as it's Commander set. All the common ones are obvious, but even something like Acquisition Octopus or Ogre-Head Helm are still pretty mediocre Equipment for the mana you invest. You can Relentless Assault. Even with your commander drawing a ton of cards, a deck dedicated to killing creatures will take a while to actually win, so I'm much more interested in what's possible with wither. For as long as this list might seem, this is only a smattering of the less-loved commanders from the past year. Wither ensures that even just blocking with a Bitterblossom token every turn will eventually take down even the largest of creatures. I love it a lot! Tanuki Transplanter is basically that but as a Reconfigure creature, meaning that it's slower than Mark, but much more resilient to removal and attachable to bigger creatures.
