Home » Changes to After Hours. As valued clients, we need to inform you of the changes that are being made to our afterhour service. Over the last 3 years, a number of local veterinary practices have made the decision not to offer their clients an afterhour service. This has resulted in a substantial increase in demand for our vets after close of business. As many of you may have seen in recent ABC and Win News, there is a national veterinary shortage of which we are not immune to. Staff at our veterinary clinics are working hard to service clients, however this increase in demand placed on us by other clinics and the shortage of vets is leading to increased pressure, both physically and emotionally. As a result of these pressures on our staff, we have had to make some changes to the way we do things and especially with our afterhour service. These decisions have been made in the best interest of our vets, the clinic while still providing an afterhour service to our clients. Our veterinary clinics will continue to provide an afterhour service to clients registered to the Eureka and Ballarat Veterinary Practice between the hours of 6pm - midnight on weekdays and 8am - midnight on weekends. After midnight, we have made arrangements with an emergency clinic in Melbourne Advanced Vetcare 03 that can take calls and help if you have an emergency with your pet. We hope you understand these changes are necessary so we can continue to provide you and your pets the compassionate personalised veterinary care you are used to now and into the future. To contact the afterhours vet with an emergency, please ring the clinic on Emergency After Hours. Click HERE for details.

Being so strongly integrated with our local community is important to us and our clients. This means that in an emergency, please telephone us on our normal contact number 03 to speak to the receptionist business hours or follow the prompts to speak to the triage veterinary nurse after-hours. Please be aware that patients are triaged on a priority basis and as such sometimes there may be a wait depending on how busy we are. We ask that you respect the vet and the nurse during this process and recognise they are there to help and will not tolerate agressive or abusive behaviour. Unfortunately, current staff shortages due to illness mean that from the beginning of December to the end of January , we will be unable to provide an in-clinic after-hours service.
