Created by Richard and Esther Shapiro , the role of Fallon was originated by Pamela Sue Martin in the show's first episode in , and Martin left at the end of the fourth season in Fallon was recast with Emma Samms in , and the character was spun off onto a companion series called The Colbys. After the cancellation of the second series, Fallon portrayed by Samms returned to Dynasty in , and remained on the series until its finale in Samms later reprised the role for the miniseries Dynasty: The Reunion. Fallon is the daughter of oil baron Blake Carrington and his first wife, Alexis , portrayed by John Forsythe and Joan Collins in the original series.

After Blake refuses to give Fallon a job of importance in his company, she teams up with Jeff Colby , her father's mortal enemy, and he offers her financial backing to be chief executive officer of Carrington Windbriar , her own company that she's starting which will also be Blake's new competition. After graduating college and finishing business school at Wharton, Fallon decided to join the Family Company and Blake gave her the job as Head of Acquisitions. Fallon resents the news and has her chauffeur and lover, Michael Culhane , investigate her soon-to-be stepmother. Michael sends Fallon pictures of Cristal meeting in secret with her former lover and CA's lead field engineer, Matthew Blaisdel. Fallon sends these pictures to Blake before meeting with Jeff Colby to hash out his deal for the Braves.
