Fallout 4 is a action role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fourth main game in the Fallout series and was released worldwide on November 10, , for PlayStation 4 , Windows , and Xbox One. The game is set within an open world post-apocalyptic environment that encompasses the city of Boston and the surrounding Massachusetts region known as "The Commonwealth". The main story takes place in the year , 10 years after the events of Fallout 3 and years after "The Great War", which caused catastrophic nuclear devastation across the United States and across the globe. The player assumes control of a character simply referred to as the "Sole Survivor", who emerges from a long-term cryogenic stasis in Vault , an underground nuclear fallout shelter. After witnessing the murder of their spouse and kidnapping of their son, the Sole Survivor ventures out into the Commonwealth to search for their missing child.

Fallout 4 is an engrossing game that lures you in with mystery and the promise of adventure. Its wretched wasteland can be captivating, and you never know what odd person or settlement lies around the next bend. Fallout 4 uses its dark world as a canvas for exciting combat and gripping stories, and when you dig deeper into its post-nuclear-apocalypse version of Boston--defending yourself from violent scavengers and using your wits to climb social ladders--you become attached to the new you, and ultimately invested in the fate of your new world. You transform into an influential wasteland warrior over the course of a multitude of dangerous quests, but this is difficult to imagine at the start when you're a well-to-do citizen of s-esque Boston. The game begins on a peaceful morning at home with your spouse and child; a robot butler provides upbeat banter and a glimpse at what America might have become if the World's Fair era of invention and optimism from the s persisted into the 21st century. In addition to the standard edition of the game, there is a collector's edition which includes a wearable replica of the Pip-Boy. The variety of areas that make Nuka World, as well as themed gear of each of them is probably the main attractive of this DLC. There's some terrific new story lines, particularly one involving one of my favourite NCPs from the main story, and quite a bit of new gear that's a great addition to my collection - including a nice set of distinct power armor and one of my top three favourite guns in the whole Fallout 4 world.
