I understand that the source code to Final Fantasy VIII is lost to time which strikes me as really flipping careless so the source material is a decompiled version of the PC port run through an x86 emulator. On the plus side, the character and creature models have been sharpened up no end. On the minus side, the rest of the assets, designed for being rendered at x rather than p, haven't.
