Final Fantasy X-2 [a] is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square for the PlayStation 2. Unlike most Final Fantasy games, which use self-contained stories and characters, X-2 continues the story of Final Fantasy X The story follows Yuna as she searches for Tidus , the main character of the previous game, while trying to prevent political conflicts in Spira from escalating to war. Final Fantasy X-2 was the first game in the series to feature just three player characters and an all-female main cast. The battle system incorporates Final Fantasy character classes —one of the series' signature gameplay concepts—and is one of the few entries to have multiple possible endings.

Final Fantasy X-2 is broken up into several different chapters. Each chapter is then broken up into several missions that you can find by travelling to all parts of Spira. Within each chapter lies what are called Hotspots. These locations are necessary for you to visit in order to progress the story and carry onto the next chapter. Having said that, it should be obvious that those locations that are not Hotspots aren't necessary at all, but it is recommended that you visit every location in Spira during every chapter. You'll find that there are several sidequests in each chapter that will give you different rewards, such as items, Garment Grids and Dresspheres. Completing all of the sidequests is necessary in order to boost your Completion Rating for the game. It is highly recommended that unless stated otherwise in this guide that you visit all of the non-essential locations before visiting the Hotspots to ensure you get everything you can.
