Frederick Crane is a recurring character on Frasier and a main character on the Frasier sequel. He is portrayed by Trevor Einhorn in the original series, and Jack Cutmore-Scott in the sequel series. Frederick is the son of Frasier Crane and Lilith Sternin , born in [1]. He is Jewish by his mother. Frederick is first portrayed as having many allergies, and not very physically inclined nor caring for sports like his father and uncle, but possessed many academic skills greater than most his age. He has the same gift for spelling as his uncle, Niles ; and he wins the National Spelling Bee but is falsely accused of cheating. He is accepted into the Marbury Academy, on the agreement neither of his parents will show up for any events.

He lives with his mother in Boston but often comes to visit Frasier in Seattle on the holidays. Through his mother, he is Jewish; his bar mitzvah was most notable for his mother's emotional breakdown and his father's ill-advised attempt to make a speech in Hebrew as seen in the tenth season episode Star Mitzvah, which reveals Freddy's middle name, Gaylord. In his first appearance, he has Lilith's hair color but when he returns, he has Frasier's. He shares both his Uncle Niles' lack of coordination and his spelling skill, becoming one of the two final contestants on the National Spelling Championship.
