In the UK, six showwomen have been causing a stir and attracting media attention with marketing and PR campaigns since autumn They have made it their task to inform politicians and the public about the situation of fairgrounds and the consequences of the pandemic for the fairground industry and to raise awareness. For example, in cities where fairgrounds had to be cancelled due to the Corona measures, symbolic carousels were set up and the population was provided with posters and information flyers. The UK has not yet ratified the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Convention, so it is all the more important that campaigns, such as Future 4 Fairgrounds, take action and action to safeguard fairground culture, helping to ensure that the fairground profession continues to be passed down from generation to generation. A full month of events all linked to every aspect of our industry and our community to help raise awareness of Showmen world wide. This project is inspired by the many awareness days and months you may already be familiar with. We would love to know what you think and any ideas how you might like to celebrate World Fun Fair Month this September. We have passed all the information on to the various trade body associations. They are in full support of the project and we are grateful to them for passing on the information to their members. September was registered officially by us as World Fun Fair Month in we were overwhelmed with what was achieved last year and we are looking to build on its success this year.

Future 4 Fairgrounds were mentioned in a Parliamentary debate 3 months after we were first established as a group. Since coming together in September we raised our profile by using social media, contacted our own MPs and became an additional voice for our community establishing ourselves alongside the number of trade body representatives that speak for our industry. We realised from the interest in Future 4 Fairgrounds that there was a very real need for a community group such as ours and we were very proud to be mentioned in a Westminster debate 3 months later in December of
